While the phrase “current news” means “the latest in current events”, it can also refer to any story whose release has occurred in the past few hours. For example, breaking news can refer to events in August 2017 or the North Korea crisis in 2017-18. And the news industry is taking note of the trend. It is estimated that eighty-five percent of American households subscribe to a streaming service. Streaming news shows offer a more personalized and convenient experience. It also reduces scarcity in media, allowing news channels to attract a younger audience.
