There are different models of Current News, and they all aim to explain what makes a newsworthy story. The Mirror Model states that the news should be as real and true to the real world as possible. The Organizational Model, also known as the Bargaining Model, emphasizes the influence of governmental processes, and the Political Model states that the news is a reflection of the political and ideological biases of the audience.
Today, news can be provided through many different media, including television, radio, print, and the internet. Historically, news was only available in print, and news had to be brought into the newsroom by a reporter. Then, it was typed and transmitted over wire services. In some cases, breaking news was only possible if it was rushed to the newsroom by an individual reporter. Today, however, commercial broadcasting cable news services provide continuous, real-time coverage around the clock, and many of them are based on live communication satellite technology. Radio and mobile users have the convenience of being able to hear the news as soon as it happens, which has made the term “breaking news” somewhat redundant.
