There is an increasingly widespread trend among younger people to stop watching broadcast television and start watching streaming TV. While this trend is not new, it has only become apparent in recent years. With more consumers turning to streaming for news and entertainment, broadcast news has struggled to remain relevant and profitable. However, streaming is not only making broadcast news and TV more affordable, but it is also making video news available everywhere.
Current News can be found on many different media, from local and national newspapers to internet websites. Newspaper Source Plus offers full text articles of major news sources, as well as radio and television transcripts. Moreover, it offers daily updates from popular news sources. It includes cover-to-cover full text for major national and local newspapers, and selected full text for hundreds of regional and international publications. Also included in the collection are the articles and videos of the Associated Press.
In the meantime, broadcasters have begun to experiment with streaming. NBC News Now boasts 100 million video views a month. But CNN and other major networks haven’t yet gotten there. Despite a lack of success, the news industry has high hopes for streaming. NBC News, for example, has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in streaming operations. And Fox’s Fox Nation streaming app has attracted 1.5 million subscribers.
The University of Southern Illinois Edwardsville’s School Leadership Program has selected 10 students for the Illinois School Leadership Pipeline Program (ISLPP). The students come from large and small school districts and communities throughout northern and southern Illinois. The candidates were chosen by Vicki Van Tuyle, an associate professor of the educational leadership program at SIUE, and Kedra Tolson, an academic marketing expert. They will take on their new positions on Dec. 7, 2022.
