Streaming TV looks like conventional television. The big question is how does this reshape political news coverage? It could attract new overtly political news operations, such as One America News.
It is a fact that streaming news has become more popular than broadcast television. In fact, in a recent survey, viewers spent more time watching streaming programs than they did watching broadcast TV.
When breaking news happens, a network’s anchor may interrupt the program or start a new one. There may even be a live shot of the anchor. If the coverage is longer than twenty or forty-five minutes, the program may have to be rescheduled. The network may suspend regular commercial advertising to maintain sustained coverage.
Streaming news also has a number of other benefits, such as the ability to archive content and deliver it to viewers on demand. This allows the network to deliver a broader range of content, and also allows viewers to customize their experience.
Another interesting advantage of streaming news is that it allows for the integration of news analysis. For example, a breaking news story may be analyzed by a reporter at the location of the incident. This information is then passed on to viewers through an internal alert service.
The other major benefit is the ability to watch news on the go. Unlike broadcast TV, streaming news is delivered on demand. This makes it much more convenient for people to get their daily dose of information, and also makes building a news library economical.
