Boat goes flying off truck and smashes into oncoming car

A Canadian woman says she’s feeling lucky to be alive after a boat went flying off the back of a truck and smashed into her car.

When a breaking news event occurs that is sufficiently serious to interrupt non-news programming or, in the case of network television, a regular newscast, the station will usually use a special graphic to alert viewers that a break is occurring. This graphic is often called a newsflash, special report or some other name. If the event is very important or requires national coverage, network affiliates will be alerted to interrupt their own local programming to carry the network feed. Lower thirds and other graphics may also be changed to reflect the seriousness of the story being covered. Breaking news is commonly used by 24-hour news networks and is often followed by a live anchor reporting on the event.
