Trending is a news story that is currently popular or in the news. Typically, when a story is trending, it will be shown at the top of the screen on Current News. This will also be reflected on social media websites, like Twitter and Facebook. Trending stories are not normally interrupted, unless they involve breaking news (an event that necessitates nationwide coverage and prompts stations to interrupt their non-news programs).
