You can find Current News in many forms. Newspapers and magazines publish news on a daily basis, while online sources are often limited in scope. For a more in-depth and timely view of current events, read a newspaper or magazine online. If you prefer print media, you can also browse current news through a search at the Bentley Library. The guide below provides helpful tips on how to find current news. You can also use the “Archived News” tab to find information dating back two years.

In a newspaper, the headline is the main story and is the most prominent print on the centerfold. It is designed to attract the attention of potential readers. On the Internet, the trending news varies depending on how many web pages are viewed and which stories are generating the most buzz. However, the stories are often not as influential to society as a whole. In addition, the trending news is mostly reader focused. While some stories have a high number of hits, they have no real impact.

Breaking news during prime time can interrupt popular shows, especially if they are highly rated and have a limited time to air. The April 2017 Shayrat missile strike interrupted ABC’s Scandal episode. NBC’s coverage of breaking news may be more interesting for viewers than the local news. Regardless, the network will make a point of announcing the break. The local affiliates will then follow up on their own newscasts or join “extended editions.”
