Current News refers to the information and media that has an impact on people’s lives. It is the result of many sources, both local and international, communicating ideas and events that affect the world. It can be classified into three different types based on its source and influence. The Mirror Model focuses on reporting reality, while the Organizational Model focuses on applying pressure to governmental processes.
Current News can be provided through a variety of different media, such as television, radio, and newspapers. Sometimes it is referred to as “hard news” to distinguish it from “soft news” that is distributed by other types of media. In many cases, breaking news is broadcast in real time, resulting in instantaneous dissemination of important information.
The City of Sammamish is currently soliciting bids for stormwater system maintenance and encourages minority and women owned businesses to participate. In September, the Progress Pride Flag Mosaic will be unveiled in Sammamish. It was designed by local artist Cheryl Smith and will be unveiled in Sammamish City Hall. The mosaic is a tribute to Sammamish’s LGBT community and will be a permanent feature in the city’s city hall. Sound Transit and the City Council accompanied the installation of the mosaic.
