Trending is a section on Current News that talks about what stories are being talked about online. This may be based on search terms or social media posts. The term trending can also be used to describe a story that is being discussed a lot on the radio. This can be a local or national story. The Trending page is a great way to see what topics people are interested in and to find out about the most talked about stories. This is different from the regular Current News section which is a regularly scheduled newscast. During breaking news events, the national network feed will usually break from regular non-news programming and instruct its affiliates to “stand by” for a breaking news update.
