If you’re a student or an alumni of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, you’ll want to attend the upcoming 2022 Homecoming festivities. These events will include a student showcase and a virtual celebration. The event will also feature a musical performance and keynote speech.
SIUE’s Educational Leadership program has selected 10 students for the ISLPP (Illinois School Leadership Pipeline Program). This program is designed to promote student leadership in Illinois schools. It will begin on December 7, 2022.
During the fall semester, SIUE hosted a Digital Humanities Student Showcase. This event rewarded students for their innovative uses of digital methods in their research and coursework. There was also a Late Night Breakfast for students, which was hosted by Chancellor James T. Minor.
Several members of the community visited the campus to wish the students good luck for the fall semester. Among them were a noted Whitman scholar, Douglas Noverr.
SIUE’s opening ceremony will take place in the International Room of the Morris University Center. It will feature a keynote speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and will also be hosted by the Inclusive Excellence, Education and Development Hub.
The ISLPP is just one of many ways that the SIUE community will communicate with elected officials. They will also be able to take advantage of a special collection of historical research.
