Justice Department filing outlines allegations of obstruction by Trump’s team

The Department of Justice filed a motion late Tuesday to challenge the request for a special master in the Mar-a-Lago case and offered up new details alleging lies and obstruction of justice.

Traditional TV news broadcasts have seen their audiences dwindle as people increasingly turn to streaming services. In fact, cable TV’s share of American households declined from 76 percent in 2015 to just 56 percent by 2021, losing the Fox News Channel at least $20 per year in yearly subscriber fees. As a result, 85 percent of households now subscribe to a streaming service.

Free news streaming services mimic the look and feel of conventional television. They schedule nightly news programs, offer documentaries, news analysis, and reruns. These services are similar to traditional cable news, with a few important differences. Streaming networks typically repurpose their programming from cable and broadcast, and chase breaking news.

Despite the low barrier to entry, streaming services can be a big hit or a failure. The major networks have invested hundreds of millions in their streaming services, and some of them have already begun to reap the benefits. But the main question remains: Can a streaming service attract viewers?
