A national organization of emergency physicians, the AAEM, has joined forces with the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). AAEM has helped the American Board of Emergency Medicine establish a new committee to improve procedures and prevent unnecessary deaths and injuries in emergency departments. It has also formed a regional chapter in Maryland.
