Journalist and filmmaker Jeremy Corbell speaks with NBC News’ Gadi Schwartz about his new documentary, “Sleeping Dog,” which offers a glimpse into how he navigates the world of government secrecy, whistleblowers, and the hunt for the truth about UFOs.
Trending is a graphic used in television news programs to indicate that a certain story is getting popular on social media, or has been trending. It may be a short text animation or a full-screen visual, and usually has a specific audio cue to accompany it. The term “trending” is also used for certain types of breaking news stories that have not yet reached a critical mass of coverage. This is often indicated in national network broadcasts by a countdown sequence and telling viewers to “stand by”. Prior to the development of 24-hour news networks, such interruptions were restricted to extremely urgent events, such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963.
