The university’s educational leadership program has selected 10 students for the ISLPP, or Illinois School Leadership Pipeline Program. The program is designed to support minority students in their pursuit of higher education.

The university’s Division of Student Affairs organized the event, which included a taco lunch, wellness bags with health essentials, and presentations by Alton Mayor David Goins and the Dairy Queen Blizzards.

This year’s event also included an invitation to faculty, alumni, and friends. The University has a long history of fostering diversity. The school has been recognized with INSIGHT Into Diversity’s Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award nine years in a row.

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville also will hold an in-person celebration in September. This celebration will take place at the Morris University Center’s International Room.
