Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is celebrating its upcoming homecoming and will host several events for alumni and the campus community. The first is a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Enterprise Holdings Foundation atrium, courtesy of a $1.5 million donation from the philanthropists. Chancellor James T. Minor also hosted a late night breakfast for students.

There are several other events and activities on tap for the week. For example, the ISLPP (Illinois School Leadership Pipeline Program) has selected 10 students for its upcoming leadership program. During this time, the students will learn how to lead their peers and mentor their fellow leaders.

Another worthy of a mention is the American Academy of Emergency Medicine’s (AAEM) announcement of its 2020 EM Pain and Procedural Committee. This group of clinicians and researchers is part of AAEM, an umbrella organization for American emergency medical professionals. As a member of the AAEM, SIUE is able to take advantage of the group’s research and educational resources.

In addition, the university’s Educational Leadership program has been awarded an ISLPP scholarship for five student winners in the fall of 2022. As a result, the program is now a tad more financially stable.

A final congratulations is in order for the SIUE administration, faculty, staff and students. They all congratulated the class of 2022 on their efforts and wish them well.

The SIUE Community is also in the mood to celebrate. A special collection of historical research, courtesy of the Douglas and Betty Noverr Collection of Walt Whitman’s Journalism, has been received.
