Streaming news has become a mainstream way for news networks to provide a service for a mass audience. It’s also a way for viewers to customize their experience. It’s like conventional TV, but it’s delivered whenever and wherever viewers want it.
Major news networks have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in streaming operations. They’ve created channels that archive content and schedule regular nightly news programs. They also offer documentaries and news analysis. Some networks even repurpose programming from cable TV.
There’s also a news section that includes links to local TV stations and radio stations. There’s also a world news page with links to the world’s most important news services. This news section is also filled with blogs, newsletters, and award winning publications. These are independent news outlets and usually objective.
During a breaking news story, the anchor introduces the story. He/she may also share more information as the story breaks. The anchor may also change the lower thirds, or use music, to emphasize the importance of the story.
As the story ends, the network may continue to show a live shot of the anchor. The anchor may also remind viewers that the full report will be on local news. The station may also cut to video of the story.
When the news coverage is done, the network may return to the regular programming. If coverage is long, the network may suspend commercial advertising. For sustained coverage, the newscast may pause to give affiliates time to join the feed.
