Trending is a section of an online newsmagazine that highlights and analyzes stories trending on the network’s social media feeds. The segment may be hosted by a news anchor or by a correspondent. When a story is trending, a blue background and a countdown appear above the headlines. A special graphic, often with a distinctive music cue, is also displayed.
