Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg joined a group of climate activists in Luetzerath, in western Germany, as they attempt to stop the village’s demolition to make way for the construction of a coal mine. “Germany is embarrassing itself,” the 20-year-old said, urging the activists to stay strong amidst police evacuations. Germany is defending the mine construction as the government attempts to secure energy sources other than Russian gas.

Streaming news is a burgeoning business. For years, news networks invested hundreds of millions of dollars in streaming operations. They sensed momentum and technological advantages in serving their streaming audience. However, they didn’t anticipate the demand for alternatives.
As with other media choices, the proliferation of new choices can create polarization. That’s because consumers tend to avoid stories that challenge their beliefs. Rather, they tend to prefer entertainment. Streaming enables viewers to customize their experience and watch the news wherever they happen to be. This makes the delivery of news timely and individualized.
Major streaming networks already have regular nightly news programs. In addition, they offer documentaries, reruns, and news analysis. The networks hope that if they invest in streaming, viewers will use their services to stay informed.
One way to do this is to use breaking news. When news breaks, a news anchor will introduce the story and a reporter will provide further details. Sometimes, this will include a live shot of the anchor. Usually, the network will pause for a few seconds and allow other network affiliates to join the feed.
