Current News is a category of news published over the past year. You can sort articles by bolded column headings, or you can click on the “Archived News” tab to see news from two years ago. You can also search the Bentley Library’s archives to find past issues of current news publications. If you’re a Bentley student, you may also want to subscribe to current news publications in print. However, this is not a guarantee that you’ll be able to find the news you need.

The headline is the biggest story in a newspaper, and is typically the boldest print on the centerfold. It’s designed to catch the eye of potential buyers. Trending news is based on the number of hits the story receives on the web. It’s more reader focused, so stories with high “buzz” tend to trend well, even if they have little impact on society. It’s also possible to find a story that’s trending online, but doesn’t necessarily affect society.

Breaking news can interrupt programming. Even the best-rated television shows, which have just begun to air, can be interrupted by breaking news. For instance, ABC’s April 2017 Shayrat missile attack interrupted an episode of Scandal. However, it was important to note that the network’s own newscast had nothing to do with the event that caused the Shayrat missile strike. It’s a good idea to plan for these interruptions ahead of time, and include them in your schedule.
