About Current News
Trending covers news stories that capture the public’s attention, such as natural disasters, accidents, and significant social issues. These developments often interrupt regular programming and require immediate reporting, which leads to updates as more information becomes available. This urgency also puts pressure on journalists to report accurately and avoid spreading misinformation quickly, which may be difficult considering the increasing number of eyewitness accounts, photos, and videos that can be shared via social media. Discuss the ethical considerations that arise when reporting breaking news and explore how these events are shaped by the role of social media in distributing and consuming information.
