This week, we take a look at how Iran is using drones that cost thousands of dollars to combat American missiles that can cost several million. We also discuss a case that could change how states verify voters’ citizenship and more.
A Breaking News story is a piece of urgent news that requires the interruption of current non-news programming (or, in the case of a live national network broadcast, of a regularly scheduled program). These are commonly called “Newsflash” or “News Special Report” and were common before 24-hour cable networks, when such interruptions were used to cover immediate, ongoing severe weather events that would require alert crawls during regular programs. These days, with the advent of 24-hour news channels, most major network affiliates have an anchor ready to interrupt programming with breaking news at any time, lessening the need for frequent cut-ins.
