When looking for news, you might want to try the Current News section. This section features articles that were published in the last year, as well as those that have been published for two years or more. Depending on which news organization you’re watching, you can sort articles by the bolded column headings. Current News also features a “Archived News” tab, which gives you the ability to look back two years. However, if you’re not interested in that time period, you can always skip ahead to more recent news.
The length of news reports can range from a few minutes to several hours. Breaking news stories may be so big that they can take over a whole network feed. In rare cases, they can even last days. For example, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy occurred between November 22 and November 26, 1963, while the September 11 attacks occurred from September 11 to fifteen. In order to keep viewers informed, networks may integrate analysis into their reports. This analysis may be done in studio, on the phone, or on satellite. During sustained coverage, regular commercials may be suspended and a dedicated station might use broadband instead.
The Current News section on the Bentley University library provides information about current events. Some of these publications are also available in print. Using the search feature in the library’s database to find print publications may also be a good idea. The library’s current news section has a guide designed to assist members of the Bentley University community. The information available in this section will help you find what you’re looking for. You may be able to find an article that is relevant to your field by using the keywords “current news” or “education.”
