Current News talks about the stories that are trending across the country and around the world.

Breaking news is a television or radio coverage of an event that requires the interruption of non-news programming (or, in some cases, a regularly scheduled newscast). If a breaking story is of sufficient importance, a national network will alert its affiliates to interrupt their own local programming and switch to a special report feed. If the breaking story warrants it, the network will typically use a countdown sequence to give affiliates enough time to switch to the feed and begin their own local coverage.

This week: The making of Cuba’s crisis; How Iran is using drones that cost thousands to combat American missiles; and why a Utah jury found Kouri Richins guilty of poisoning her husband with fentanyl.
