A settlement with the Federal Trade Commission requires John Deere to give farmers access to the same repair tools as its dealerships for the next decade. But some farmers and advocates are wary, saying they’ve heard promises like this from Deere before. NBC News’ Allie Canal reports.

When a breaking news event occurs that warrants interrupting regular non-news programming, or even a live network television newscast (this practice was common before 24-hour news channels) to cover the story, a countdown sequence is used to alert affiliate stations to switch over to the network feed. Depending on the severity of the event, the newscast may be interrupted for multiple hours or days to provide in-depth coverage. The newsflash or special report is often accompanied by a distinct music cue and a change in lower thirds or other graphics to convey urgency. Alternatively, a ticker or other short-form information may be used instead.
