Stories with familiarity and proximity also influence readers, and stories that are timely or relevant will get more coverage. Media production models are an important part of the process, and help determine the impact of a story.
Professional news models focus on how events are presented for an audience, and the way those events affect readers. In this approach, skilled journalists put together events and use audience reactions to judge the impact on readers. Other models emphasize the importance of ensuring that the news accurately reflects reality. One of these models is the Mirror Model, which aims to present the reality as it is. Another one, known as the Organizational Model, focuses on applying pressure on governmental processes. Lastly, the Political Model states that news should represent different political pressures and ideological biases.
Today, the news comes from a wide variety of sources. It can be provided through the print, radio, television, and the internet. It can be hard news or soft news.
