Whether you are listening to a radio or watching television, you have probably heard the term “breaking news.” But what is breaking news and how is it used?

There are many different ways that breaking news is used. The term can be used for a live story, a story that is based on information previously reported by a news organization, or a story that has not been reported yet.

The term breaking news is usually used to refer to a story that is of high interest to viewers. For example, the assassination of John F. Kennedy was a breaking news event. It was covered by CBS News anchorman Walter Cronkite.

In radio, a breaking news theme is often used to convey the importance of a story. The theme must have an urgent tenor and should be accompanied by some type of music.

In television, a breaking news event can be an interruption to the program, but it can also be used to introduce a new piece of programming. For example, a local station may be given the chance to air a new nightly newscast. When the story ends, the station will likely return to its normal programming schedule.

In both television and radio, the breaking news may not be the most interesting story of the day. It can be something as simple as an alert to an internal alert service.

In television, the breaking news may take the form of a live shot of an anchor. It can also take the form of a reverse countdown, usually from five seconds.
