What is Current News? It is the news that you watch, listen to, or read about. Typically, a news report will last for several minutes or hours, depending on the story and its complexity. Long-running news events can last for days or even weeks. For example, the assassination of John F. Kennedy was covered for three days from November 22 to 26, 1963, and the September 11 attacks were reported on for fifteen days from September 11 to 17. Current News may include analyses from people in a studio, on the phone, or through satellite. Broadband may be used for sustained coverage, and regular commercials may be suspended.
Depending on the nature of the story, the network and local station may continue to run live shots of the anchor, and then switch to video coverage. Sometimes, coverage may be passed to a reporter at the scene of the breaking news, who will provide more information as it breaks. These two options are not mutually exclusive, so be sure to check both your local and network channels for live coverage. It is important to know when your local station will air a breaking news story and how it may affect your business.
Earlier this year, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosted nearly 100 admitted students from different cultures. According to Kelley Brooks, assistant director of campus visits, these students came to the campus to learn more about the school. During the visit, they were able to talk with current students and tour the campus. Another recent development is the announcement of a new certificate in digital media literacy, which can be earned online in one summer.
