The center says it is the largest mosque in San Diego County.

Breaking news is a type of television or radio broadcast that interrupts non-news programming to report an urgent, developing story, such as a natural disaster, terrorist attack or political upheaval. This is a common feature of 24-hour news networks, where an anchor is available for live interruption of regular programming in the event of an emergency. Breaking news is often reported using a special graphic overlay over the top of a normal program feed, and may include a countdown sequence to allow network affiliates time to switch to the network’s feed. Alternatively, the breaking news story may be covered in a dedicated segment of the existing program. Prior to the advent of 24-hour news channels, breaking news breaks were often limited to events that required nationwide coverage and necessitated multiple stations’ programming to be interrupted. This included severe weather events, which often triggered cut-ins and alert crawls during regular scheduled programs, even on lower thirds.
