Murdaugh can be heard in the video asking the officer to confirm his wife and son were dead.
As we head into winter break, SIUE will kick off its Homecoming festivities in style. The event will include a virtual ceremony and an in-person affair. A ribbon cutting ceremony will also mark the completion of the new Enterprise Holdings Foundation atrium in the Engineering Building.
SIUE’s upcoming grand opening is the logical next step in the institution’s effort to become more accessible to the local community. This will be accompanied by a series of educational events designed to showcase the university’s achievements and provide insight into its future. In addition to its mainstays, SIUE will welcome its alumni and friends to campus.
To mark the occasion, the school has launched the new SIUE Homecoming webpage and is extending an invitation to the community to attend the aforementioned Celebration Luncheon on January 16, 2019. The luncheon will feature a keynote speech, musical performance and a free brunch.
The event will also feature an in-person demonstration of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation’s most recent endeavors. The company donated $1.5 million to renovate the atrium.
Other notable events include the signing of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine’s (AAEM) newest affidavit of membership and the AAEM’s letter of support to the state legislature in favor of HB6910. While the aforementioned may be the most expensive entrée, it will also be the most enduring and will serve as a reminder of the many ways the institution contributes to the community.
One of the more exciting aspects of the Homecoming festivities is that it has helped launch a new era in SIUE’s history. For instance, the school has received a significant collection of historical research, which will be available to the public as part of a public library.
