First Grain Ship Leaves Ukrainian Port After Months Of Russian Blockade

The first ship carrying grain has left an Odesa port since the war in Ukraine began under a deal to help ease the global food crisis was reached after months of a Russian blockade on exports. NBC News’ Morgan Chesky has the details.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville hosted nearly 100 admitted multicultural students recently. According to Kelley Brooks, assistant director for campus visits, the students were invited to SIUE to learn about the school, interact with current students, and tour the campus. Additionally, the College of Arts and Sciences has announced the creation of the new Post-Baccaureate Certificate in Digital Media Literacy. This certificate will allow students to complete their education completely online, in just one summer.

Commencement ceremonies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville continue May 6-7. This year, Chancellor James T. Minor will oversee seven commencement ceremonies to honor the university’s 2,356 eligible graduates. The commencement ceremonies will recognize the achievements of students from the School of Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences. CAS graduates will be recognized in a ceremony with the honorary plaque and $100. The college also recognizes exceptional students in nearly two dozen departments.
