One of the most exciting trends in media today is the rise of streaming news. Streaming news has made video news ubiquitous and enables viewers to customize their experience. It has also proven to be highly profitable for the major news networks.

As a result, streaming news has generated millions of viewers, and has a significant potential to change how political news is covered. The major news networks are leveraging the power of their online video platforms to repurpose programming and offer new content.

Fox Nation has proven that audiences will pay for video content. The company has attracted 1.5 million subscribers to its Fox Nation app.

Other major streaming networks have also seen success. NBC News Now has 31 million hours of monthly programming. POLITICO offers coverage of national politics and advocacy, as well as Capitol Hill, and Inside U.S. Trade offers daily international trade news.

ABC and CBS are also entering the streaming market. Both networks have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in streaming operations.

Free news streamers, or the like, are promoting cable-quality news. In exchange for free streaming services, they are asking viewers to reduce their cable subscriptions. By essentially telling consumers they can get cable-quality news for free, the companies are hoping to earn a piece of the $3 billion profit that the major news networks will make in 2020.

Online video streaming is likely to attract overtly political news organizations, such as One America News. It also will allow viewers to view news anywhere, at any time, and to select their own preferred news source.
