Breaking news is a term that has been used interchangeably with late-breaking news, special report and special coverage. It refers to the most recent, urgent story that is being reported, live or upcoming. Sometimes, breaking news is used to describe stories that have wide public interest, or when a news organization has already reported a story. Alternatively, “just in” is used. But, what is breaking news and how is it different from regular news?
