In 2022, 44 percent of adults surveyed said that they thought it was a memorable year for news. Many of these adults also indicated that they felt like they were in the loop with the current events. Moreover, nearly half of the survey participants believed that there would be more positive news in 2023.
Another interesting aspect to this survey is that almost half of the respondents did not believe some of the stories that were featured in the media. This was particularly true in cases where people were not convinced of a particular event or issue.
These survey results highlight the importance of understanding the different sources of news. Some of the most common are: TV broadcasts, magazines, digital magazines, newspapers, and in-person conversations.
The work of university faculty and administrators is often under-publicized. For example, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation donated a $1.5 million grant to renovate the atrium of the Engineering Building. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place.
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Engineering joined with the Enterprise Holdings Foundation to celebrate the atrium. Earlier this year, the SIUE Educational Leadership program selected 10 students to participate in the ISLPP, which stands for the Illinois School Leadership Pipeline Program.
