A 7-year-old girl was kidnapped and killed last week by a contract FedEx driver who had just delivered a package while she was standing outside her house, police say. NBC News’ Priscilla Thompson spoke with the girl’s mother about the tragedy.

Streaming is a relatively new medium for news. It provides viewers with content anytime and anywhere. With this medium, the news arrives on demand, and the viewer can choose to customize the experience to his or her preferences.
Streaming news has shown great potential, attracting both niche audiences and mass audiences. As such, the major news networks have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in streaming operations. These companies plan regular nightly news programs and offer documentaries, reruns, and news analysis.
In addition to the three major streaming networks, Al Jazeera, Cheddar, Newsmax, and Bloomberg have planted a flag in the streaming frontier. These news organizations have also developed local streams. In 2022, CBS plans to beam 45,000 hours of local news to its subscribers.
These news operations have found that consumers are willing to pay for quality news. In fact, Fox Nation has tapped into TV audiences’ desire to pay for content. It has attracted 1.5 million subscribers to its streaming app.
In fact, the three biggest cable news networks have earned a combined profit of $3 billion in 2020. In addition, the major streaming networks have scheduled 10 hours of programming per day.
In the future, online video streaming will reshape political coverage. As such, there is a likelihood that new, overtly political news operations will enter the fray.
In the meantime, the major streaming networks are repurposing programming from broadcast. For instance, NBC News Now produces ten hours of programming per day.
