If you’re in the market for a new radio station, you may have come across the Current News section. The Current News tab includes news that was published within the last year. You can sort the articles by using the bold column headings. You can also click on “Archived News” to view news from the past two years. This section includes breaking stories, as well as analysis, opinion, and more. It’s worth checking out if you want to stay up-to-date on current events.

The news industry is feeling the pinch. Traditional broadcast and cable news programs have seen their audiences shrink. In fact, the percentage of Americans watching cable TV dropped from 76 percent in 2015 to just 56 percent in 2021. Fox News Channel loses $20 in yearly subscriber fees every year. Today, 85 percent of U.S. households subscribe to at least one streaming service. Streaming has given news the ability to follow the news and stay informed from wherever you are.

Despite the challenges, some broadcasters are experimenting with streaming to attract viewers. CBS News, which recently launched CNN+, is making aggressive moves to stream local news. It’s expected to beam 45,000 hours of local news by 2022. Meanwhile, companies such as Cheddar, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, and Newsy are planting flags in this frontier. While they have not launched their own streaming service, the low barriers to entry allow newcomers to enter the fray.
