Authorities say a pilot who was allegedly under the influence made an emergency landing on Interstate 70 in Missouri. Crystal Lipham, a truck driver who witnessed the landing, said that the pilot’s “words were slurring” and she could “smell the alcohol on him”. KSHB’s JuYeon Kim reports.

Breaking news can also refer to a story of worldwide interest. It is sometimes used instead of “just in,” which refers to a story that has already been reported on by a news organization. Here are the definitions of the most common types of current news. Read on to learn more about how to recognize them and how they relate to your favorite news program.
Broadcasting current events on television can disrupt other programs in prime time, which can make them appear mediocre or even boring. Breaking news can also interrupt popular programs, particularly highly-rated shows with little time left to air. For example, in April 2017, ABC’s coverage of the Shayrat missile attack interrupted a Scandal episode. Broadcast networks typically schedule breaking news in advance, so viewers know how to prepare for such interruptions.
Breaking news anchors may remind viewers to check their local or network news channels for additional coverage. The network may also broadcast a full wrap-up of the story, and regular daytime and late-night programming may be resumed. Digital television has increased the options for viewing current news, and some of these broadcasters also offer their news on auxiliary digital subchannels that air in conjunction with the main signal.
