It’s no secret that today’s news has been largely moved from print to cable TV. In fact, for decades, cable television has been one of the most profitable businesses in the world.

But with the advent of streaming, it’s possible to watch your favorite programs whenever and wherever you want. And it’s also possible to customize the experience. Streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu offer a wide range of content, allowing viewers to watch what they want.

While it’s difficult to determine exactly how much news is delivered via streaming, it’s clear that video news has become more ubiquity than ever before. A recent survey found that 85 percent of U.S. households subscribe to at least one streaming service.

Streaming has also made it easier for news companies to archive their existing programming. As a result, they can repurpose it for new audiences. They can also use their platforms to schedule regular nightly news shows, reruns and documentaries.

Streaming is also a great way to reach niche audiences. Fox Nation, a streaming app from the Fox network, has already attracted 1.5 million subscribers.

News networks have been scrambling to take advantage of this technology. The major networks have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in their streaming operations. Some have even begun to repurpose programming from their broadcast outlets.

There’s no denying that online video streaming is likely to reshape news coverage. New overtly political news operations are sure to pop up, and the proliferation of streaming services will give consumers plenty of options.
