The majority of Americans are aware of current news events and would describe themselves as being in the loop with what’s going on. Nearly half of those surveyed think there will be more positive news in 2023 than in the previous year.

One of the most common ways to stay informed of news is through Facebook. But, Facebook isn’t the only place you can find information. Here are five more options you may want to try.

BBC Newsround, for example, offers daily stories on the latest news around the globe. In addition to national and international news, it also features inspiring stories from children. Another website, SciTechDaily, specializes in space and astronomy news. Its articles cover cosmology and gravity waves.

Fun Kids Radio, another online resource, is a UK-based radio station that produces podcasts and stories for kids. Its weekly series includes The Week Junior Show, which discusses major stories in a kid-friendly way.

There’s also a wide variety of children’s news websites. Some are based in the United States, while others are international. Dogo News is a site for young people in Africa. And News for Kids is a US-based online resource that provides daily roundups of current news written for children.

Avalere recently published research on the high cost of emergency care. Its findings include that nearly half of all American adults can’t believe certain stories they see in the media.

The AAEM is a part of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM). In November, the AAEM signed a letter of support to Congress, which opposes Louisiana HB 495, a bill that would require emergency physicians to be certified.
