The latest version of streaming news comes in many forms, from news to documentaries. It’s been over ten years since major networks began to make streaming a staple of their programming. However, viewers are still not completely sure what they’re getting. Thankfully, there are a few key elements that you’ll need to know to get the most out of your subscription.
First, you need to understand the concept of “breaking news”. Breaking news is a term used to describe the latest and most significant story in the news cycle. Usually, a breaking event will require some sort of live coverage. This may be a reporter at the scene of the incident, or it may be an anchor on a 24-hour network.
Second, you need to understand the concept of “special report”. Also known as a special report, a special report is a brief summary of a story of importance. In general, a special report will last for at least a few minutes, and may be longer.
Finally, you need to understand the concept of “just in time” news. A just in time news report is a type of breaking news that occurs at a specific time of the day. When a story is breaking, the network will alert its affiliates. They will then begin to join the feed.
For instance, in April 2017, a Shayrat missile strike interrupted the newest episode of Scandal. At the same time, a local CBS affiliate piped coverage of the Pittsburgh bridge collapse to a streamer.
