Current News is a collection of articles published in the past year. You can sort the articles by column headings that are in bold. You can also go back two years by clicking on the “Archived News” tab. These publications contain a wide variety of news articles and commentary on a wide range of topics. These publications provide information from around the world.
Breaking news is also known as late-breaking news or special coverage. It refers to an important story that is occurring live or just after a news organization had already published a story. In general, breaking news is used to describe a story that has broad interest for viewers. However, sometimes the term “breaking news” is used to refer to something that isn’t new at all.
Breaking news can interrupt programming, such as local newscasts or overnight news programs. In this case, it is possible to join in the middle of a show or start it back at the point of interruption. For example, on ABC, a new episode of Scandal was interrupted in April 2017 by breaking news of a missile strike on a nuclear facility in Iran. Fortunately, the show was able to resume its story at the point of interruption.
Breaking news is typically presented in a special report format. This format usually includes an internal alert service, which notifies all affiliates in the network. The network feed will then switch to a reverse countdown, usually starting at five seconds. In most cases, local television stations don’t provide reverse countdowns, but they do offer an alternative outlet for programming.
