The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Educational Leadership Program has selected 10 students to participate in the Illinois School Leadership Pipeline Program (ISLPP). ISLPP stands for Illinois School Leadership Pipeline Program and is a part of the University’s commitment to student leadership.
The Illinois School Leadership Pipeline Program is a unique program that provides students with the knowledge and skills to become principals and school administrators. Aspiring principals come from smaller communities, as well as larger districts. A majority of aspiring principals are located in Southern Illinois.
During the fall semester, the SIUE IRIS Center hosted a Digital Humanities Student Showcase that celebrated students’ innovative work using digital tools. The show, which was a part of the fall Digital Humanities Festival, was a great way to recognize these students’ efforts to engage with complex topics in a new, creative way.
At the event, the students and community members expressed congratulations on the students’ success and wished them well in the coming semester. After the event, the students attended a late night breakfast hosted by Chancellor James T. Minor.
On January 3, 2022, the school will reopen. An opening ceremony will be held at the Morris University Center’s International Room. This will serve as a time to introduce the campus to the community and offer effective ways to communicate with elected officials.
The school will host an in-person and virtual event during the first week of school to celebrate Native Heritage Month. There will also be a celebration luncheon, featuring a keynote speaker and musical performance.
