Lt. Amanda Lee became the first woman to be selected as a demo pilot for the elite U.S. Navy squadron. ABC News’ Mona Kosar Abdi has her story.

If you’ve ever wondered how news is written, you’re not alone. Countless people have the same question – how do you tell if it’s current? Here are three different ways to sort articles:

First, current news may be short. A single item of news may last for a few minutes, or it may take several hours. Breaking news can also interrupt primetime programming, especially new shows with a short airing time. For example, ABC interrupted an episode of Scandal in April 2017 because a missile had struck the city of Shayrat. Moreover, breaking news during primetime has the potential to interrupt highly rated programs.

Second, current news may include a number of stories about a variety of subjects. In Sri Lanka, authorities have ordered a two-week shutdown of schools and government offices, while public transport in the country has halted. Fuel shortages have also led the Public Administration ministry to halt all public transportation in the country. Additionally, the US Food and Drug Administration has approved the use of two COVID-19 vaccines for young children, with serious consequences.
