About Trending
Breaking news is live television or radio coverage of an urgent current event, such as a terrorist attack, fire, or natural disaster. A broadcaster typically interrupts regularly scheduled programming, and sometimes even network affiliates’ local newscasts, to begin breaking news coverage. Depending on the urgency, an emergency crawl or newsflash may be used to alert viewers of the event. News coverage may be augmented with analysis through in-studio or remote experts via phone, satellite or broadband (B-GAN). Until the emergence of 24-hour news networks, programming interruptions were usually reserved for events that required nationwide coverage and caused a number of stations to go off the air simultaneously, such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Other terms for breaking news include Newsflash and Special report.
Joe Rogan talks about why President Trump fast-tracked research into psychedelic treatments like Ibogaine. And Hallie Jackson explores why Jeffrey Epstein’s former New Mexico ranch wasn’t searched earlier.
