The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is currently in the process of making a splash in the higher education community. The latest news from the campus is that they are launching a new School of Business focusing on leadership development, human resource management, marketing and administration. It’s all in the name of making a difference.

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is also in the throes of kicking off the university’s 2022 Homecoming celebration. To celebrate their achievements over the past three decades, the institution will be hosting a variety of events, both in person and online.

The most important is the inauguration of the university’s first Chancellor James T. Minor. This ceremony will be held at the campus’s International Room. The university will also be observing a winter break and reopening in the new year. During this time, the campus will host an event to celebrate Native Heritage Month.

On a more academic note, the IRIS Center is hosting a Fall Digital Humanities Student Showcase. While the show was not a competition, it was a showcase of students’ innovations using digital tools and technologies.

As for the aforementioned show, a $1.5 million gift from Enterprise Holdings Foundation went a long way in making the aforementioned display a reality. The display’s atrium is located within the Engineering Building. In addition to the display’s grand opening, the campus is also receiving a small but mighty collection of historical research.

In addition to the aforementioned show, the university is also implementing the first of its kind, multi-year program aimed at creating a pipeline of school leaders. These aspiring principals are coming from a mix of large and small districts, from southern to northern Illinois.
