Today, news is delivered through broadcast and cable channels, which are available twenty-four hours a day. The speed at which news is transmitted is also increasing thanks to new technology and espionage networks.
The impact of current news is a major component of news making, and this impact is determined by how effectively the story can evoke a reaction in readers. Stories that have a strong impact on the audience are more likely to be reported in a more prominent manner. For example, a story about violence or scandal in a community will be more likely to attract readers if it is relevant to their lives. Moreover, a story that is timely will receive more coverage.
Another important aspect of current news is that it provides updates from a variety of sources. For instance, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville held the Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run on Sept. 24. In addition to honoring past graduates, SIUE also set new records for fall 2022, including an increase of 44% in international enrollment compared to fall 2021.
