Trending

A trend is a topic that receives a lot of attention in social media, the news, and other outlets. Trends often rise to prominence quickly, making it difficult for newer stories to compete with them in the search engines.

Breaking News

When an event occurs that warrants immediate, nationwide coverage and requires stations to interrupt regular programming or even their regularly scheduled network newscasts, a special report is issued by the network to inform viewers of the developing story. The special report may be introduced through a graphic, or by a countdown sequence, followed by the network’s feed being switched over from its normal source. Depending on the seriousness of the event, the special report may last only a few minutes, or be accompanied by continuous coverage for hours and even days. During such an interruption, regular commercial advertising is suspended and station identification is typically provided through an in-studio announcer or overlaid in the lower thirds of the screen.

CBS News reporter Hallie Jackson investigates a remote stretch of land in New Mexico where Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch was located and explores questions about why the area wasn’t searched sooner. Plus, “Sunday Morning” talks with designer Nicolas Ghesquiere who is taking Louis Vuitton into the future.
