Current News talks about Trending

Breaking news is a feature on television and radio that alerts the viewer to a current event which may require immediate, national coverage or which demands an interruption of regular programming. These events could be anything from a dramatic rescue involving a swimmer, a plane crash or a power outage in Cuba to a heartwarming story about a brave surf instructor or a Chicago mother who evicted brazen squatters. If the event requires a network cut-in, stations that are affiliated with the network will be told to “stand by,” and a countdown sequence will play before the network feed is interrupted.
