Seven years ago, Trevor Kennison was in a snowboarding accident that left him paralyzed. Today, he’s back hitting the slopes. ABC News’ Will Ganss has his tale. of redemption.
Current News is a term used to describe the most recent breaking news. This could be a story about a disaster or an event that is happening in the world around us.
A breaking news report (sometimes also referred to as an ‘extended edition’) is a piece of live television coverage that may last for several minutes, or for a number of hours and is usually reported by an anchor, with the coverage passed to reporters at the site of the incident who can relay more details. Often this will be the first time viewers will see the event unfold, and may include footage or images from the scene.
Breaking news is not always a broadcast television program, but can be a segment in a radio or streaming media program as well. In the United States, the term is most commonly used to refer to a special report on a network television program.
On radio, breaking news is also a common way to announce a local or national emergency. The most obvious example is a local or regional tornado warning, which is sometimes accompanied by an announcement of the location, and even the severity, of the storm.
The most important part of this process is that it is very common to interrupt regular programming, such as a soap opera or a talk show, to provide a breaking news report. This may not be the most effective use of airtime, but it is certainly the most evocative and informative for viewers.
