Current News, which is often referred to as news, is a type of information published in the mass media. Common topics include government, health, education, and environment. Other topics of interest include business, fashion, and entertainment. Some news sources may also cover quirky events. The term “news” was first used during ancient times to refer to government proclamations. Today, commercial broadcasting cable news services are available 24 hours a day and often use live communications satellite technology to deliver news. In addition to broadcast news, mobile phones and radio services offer real-time, breaking news.
The Bentley Library offers a variety of databases containing current news. These databases allow students to search a variety of newspapers and periodical publications. Some databases offer access to international newspapers. Google Search is also a useful resource for finding specific publications. There are also some publications available on the Internet that you may not be able to find in your local library.
With the rapid evolution of social media, many newsrooms have begun using social media platforms to perform news gathering. This shift has led to major changes in the way people consume news. In the United States, one of the largest news agencies was United Press International. In the 20th century, it was regarded as a global news agency. However, in the 1980s, it was sold off at low prices. Today, it is owned by News World Communications, a division of the Unification Church.
