Iran unswayed by Trump’s 48-hour deadline and threats to ‘obliterate’ energy infrastructure

Iran has threatened to escalate strikes on energy infrastructure should President Donald Trump make good on a promise to “obliterate” the country’s power plants if it does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz. NBC News’ Matt Bradley reports from Tel Aviv, Israel.

Trending is a feature on the website that highlights stories that are currently generating the most interest. Often this is due to their popularity or how much buzz they are creating. Whether it’s a viral video showing an incredible act of bravery, the assassination of a president or even a power outage in Cuba, these stories are what people are talking about right now. Often these stories require that non-news programming be interrupted for breaking news coverage (although this was not the case before 24-hour news networks existed). In the past, such interruptions were commonly known as “Newsflash” and “Special Report”. In many cases, network affiliate stations will also have a special graphic, music cue, or lower third to indicate that they are interrupting their regular broadcast.
